We got back to the Disciple and kicked off the last stage of the instance, escorting the Disciple through part of the instance so he could summon the final boss. Of course, we found that the first part of the instance had respawned. We took down the last of the preliminary bosses and then headed back to the Disciple. The remaining four of us pressed on and continued to do well enough. Enaldie, who had been up early, was too tired by midnight to go any further, so dropped out and went to bed. We got a few good drops including Kresh’s Back and two Gloves of the Fang off of consecutive pulls.Įventually though, time started to tell. We were making progress, moving through the instance about as fast as you can at our level and this were looking good. Azawak, Hurmoo, and Earlthebat were there first and got to illustrate how a ghost wolf does look like a druid using prowl in cat form. We got ourselves to the meeting stone to prepare for the run. Too much melee DPS and not enough crowd control, so the week was spent getting the new mage into approximately the right level range. Out was Azucar the troll rogue and in was Bigbutt the undead mage. Most of us just remembered that it took a long time to complete.Īs for a line up, this week we had a substitution. It has been a little over three years since we last delved into the Wailing Caverns. ![]() And on a roleplay server too, so who knows what was going on.Īnyway, there in the Barrens is Wailing Cavern, but you probably knew where we were going from the title of the post. It has remained locked since the launch of Everquest II, and what lies past it is unknown. We decided where to head on Saturday night based on where we were all initially located.Īh yes, Barrens chat at its finest. The second door, shown on the right, is a mysterious door bearing the mark of The Ree Orcs. You must wait an indeterminate amount of time before the cooldown is up (possibly an hour). If this door is locked when Lord Ree has recently been killed and the encounter is on cooldown. The first is a normal door that leads to Lord Ree's Private Chambers. There are two doors at the bottom level of the zone:.Chrono-mentoring to level 20 will ensure all mobs (except a few in the first area) are green or higher.Wailing Caves is a good experience zone for its level and also provides some nice AA for those that have not already received it.This is a great place to loot-run at the lower levels! Exquisite chests drop frequently in this zone.Quests See: Wailing Caves Timeline Collections Something definitely isn't right in The Wailing Caves.Įntrance if you look closely, inside the mouth you can see two red eyes warning any would-be adventurers about entering here. Perhaps it is the sense of dread upon seeing unholy sights such as The Pit of Death or The Burial Pit, or perhaps it is the distant wail that can be heard in every darkened corner. As the adventurer delves deeper into this dungeon, their sense of direction and normalcy will become lost. Built deep underground, beneath the Jagged Spine mountains that partially surrounds The Commonlands, lies the stronghold of the The Ree Orcs and their undead compatriots, the Shin'Ree. ![]()
